Television journalist Ian Harvey Hanomansing hails from the country of Canada and works for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
Formerly hosting “CBC News Network Vancouver” on “CBC News Network,” he now contributes to “The National,” the evening newscast broadcast on CBC Television.
He was given the role of co-anchor of The National on August 1, 2017, and is currently in charge of hosting the show on both Fridays and Sundays.
In addition, he hosted the weekly call-in show Cross Country Checkup on CBC Radio One from 2020 until 2022 as an interim host while the program’s regular host, Duncan McCue, was away on sabbatical.
In 2022, he was also given the title of permanent host of the program.
After graduating, he began working in the radio industry at CKDH in Amherst, Nova Scotia, then moved on to CKCW in Moncton, New Brunswick, and finally CHNS in neighbouring Halifax.
He started working for the CBC back in 1986. Before relocating to Vancouver, he reported for the CBC in the Maritimes and Toronto, Ontario.
There, he hosted the now-cancelled programs Pacific Rim Report, Foreign Assignment, and Times 7 (a joint venture with The New York Times). He also hosted the summer series Feeling the Heat on CBC Radio One.
