Irene was the youngest of four siblings, two sisters and two brothers, in her family. Irene was one of the five Little Miss America finalists when she was just three years old.
Before taking music, dancing, and acting classes seriously, she began playing the piano by ear. When she was five, she took her first dance lessons.
Irene was well-known as an actress and singer in the United States. In 1984, Cara received an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the song “Flashdance… What a Feeling” from the movie Flashdance. Cara also co-wrote the song.
