Fayed was born in Alexandria’s Roshdy area, in the Kingdom of Egypt. He was the oldest son of an Asyut-born Egyptian primary school teacher.

It is uncertain what year he was born. Although his website, alfayed.com, previously said that he was born in 1933, the Department of Trade discovered that he was actually born in 1929.

Despite the fact that Al- does not have the same social implications as in German or French. some people have concluded that Fayed’s addition of “Al-” to his name was intended to convey noble origins.

He was dubbed the “Phoney Pharaoh” by Private Eye magazine as a result of this supposition. His birth year was altered from “1933” to “1929” on the website in 2011.

He has worked with his brothers Ali and Salah in the business world. From 1954 to 1956, Samira Khashoggi was Fayed’s wife.

He collaborated with Adnan Khashoggi, the uncle of the assassinated dissident writer Jamal Khashoggi and a Saudi arms trader and businessman.

Is Ali Al-Fayed still alive or dead?

Mohamed Al Fayed has indeed passed away. At the age of 94, he died. He “passed away peacefully of old age” on Wednesday, according to his family.

Al Fayed was a flamboyant billionaire businessman of Egyptian descent who was best known for owning Fulham FC and Harrods. Sadly, his son tragically perished in a collision with Princess Diana in 1997, and his passing occurs nearly 26 years after that terrible event.

He switched from using “Fayed” to “Al-Fayed” sometime in the early 1970s. In the 1980s, when they bought the House of Fraser, his brothers Ali and Salah did the same thing, however by the late 1980s, both had returned to using the name “Fayed” alone.
