Andre Rush, a combat veteran who served in the United States Army for 23 years and retired as a master sergeant, abandoned his position as a White House cook.

Rush was honoured with a celebration of service award at the opening of a Salvation Army in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 2020.

Rush was a member of the Culinary Arts Team of the United States Army.
