Anita Alvarez, a Mexican American artist who competes in synchronized swimming, was born on December 2, 1996.

She is from Buffalo, New York, and attended Kenmore West Senior High School for her high school education.

After graduating in 2014, she began a professional career in synchronized swimming.

Amazingly, this is the second time Alvarez has passed out while competing in a pool, with Fuentes once more saving her life at the Olympics qualifying competition in Barcelona.

American swimmer Anita Alvarez, who needed to be saved by her coach on Wednesday after falling at the World Championships, is lucky to be alive.

The 25-year-old synchronized swimmer fell and smacked her head on the Budapest pool’s bottom during the women’s solo free event final.

Her instructor Andrea Fuentes dived into the water and rescued the young woman with the help of a male lifeguard.

After being rescued from the water, Alvarez got immediate first aid, rapidly recovered consciousness, and appears to be recovering completely.
