We regret to inform you of the demise of SGM Billy Waugh, an American hero who gave more than 50 years of his life to serving his nation. Later, he enlisted in the Special Forces, and in 1972, he retired as a Sergeant Major. Then, in 1977, Billy began working with the CIA as a paramilitary operations officer, where he remained until his retirement in 2005.
Billy has achieved too much to count, yet his legacy will last forever. He took part in the MACV SOG and performed the first HALO combat jump into Vietnam as a pioneer of military free fall tactics.
Billy Waugh was one of the first Americans to go into Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom at the age of 71 to take on the Taliban and Al Qaeda. We lament the passing of this illustrious hero today who gave his life to defending our liberties.
