Vince Gilligan created and produced the American crime drama TV series Breaking Bad. The series, which is set and shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico, centers on Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a low-paid, overqualified, and depressed high-school chemistry teacher who is coping with a recent stage-three lung cancer diagnosis.

Before he passes away, White turns to a life of crime and teams up with a former classmate, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), to manufacture and sell crystal meth while avoiding the perils of the criminal underground. From January 20, 2008, through September 29, 2013, a total of 62 episodes from five seasons of the show were broadcast on AMC.

The show also features Betsy Brandt and Dean Norris as Skyler’s sister Marie Schrader and her husband Hank, a DEA agent, as well as Anna Gunn and RJ Mitte as Walter’s wife Skyler and son Walter Jr. Other actors include Giancarlo Esposito as drug lord Gus Fring, Jonathan Banks as private eye and fixer Mike Ehrmantraut, and Bob Odenkirk as Walter and Jesse’s attorney Saul Goodman.

The criminally ambitious Todd Alquist, played by Jesse Plemons, and Lydia Rodarte-Quayle, a crafty business executive who oversees Walter’s company’s international meth sales, played by Laura Fraser, are introduced in the final season.
