Christopher Robert Evans was born in Sudbury, Massachusetts, on June 13, 1981, and spent his formative years there. His father Bob is a dentist, and his mother Lisa (née Capuano) oversees the Concord Youth Theater’s artistic program.

While his mother has a mixture of Irish and Italian ancestry, his father is of Irish descent. In 1999, his parents separated.

As a child, he enjoyed musical theatre and attended acting camps. In the musical Bye Bye Birdie, Evans played Randolph MacAfee. Evans and his siblings also performed in front of family members during the holidays, saying that being onstage “felt like home.”

Evans spent the summer before his senior year of high school in New York City, taking classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Evans graduated in 1999 from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.

Evans was Jeremy Strong’s classmate. In 1997, Evans made his debut as a recognized actor in the short educational film Biodiversity: Wild About Life! Evans served as the inspiration for “Tyler” in the 1999 release of Mystery Date by Hasbro.

Evans can be seen speaking into the electronic phone that was included with the special edition of the game on the game box.
