Schapelle Leigh Corby popularly known as Ganja Queen was born on 10 July 1977. Ganja Queen is an Australian woman who was arrested and convicted of smuggling cannabis into Indonesia.

Ganja spent a total of nine consecutive years in prison on the Indonesian island of Bali in Kerobokan Prison. Since she got arrested, Ganja has since maintained her stand that the drugs found on her were planted in her bodyguard bag and that she did not know about the drugs.

Ganja’s trial and conviction were a major focus of attention for the Australian media at the time.

Ganja Queen was convicted on 27 May 2005. She was convicted for the importation of 4.2 kg (9.3 Ib) of cannabis into Bali and was subsequently sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the Denspasar District Court.

Is Ganja Queen still in jail?

Ganja Queen was released from Prison on 10 February 2014. She avoided the packed media that surrounded her. Ganja was loaded into a prison van and was moved to the prosecutor’s office in Denpasar where she was cleared. Ganja Queen is not in prison at the time of this publication.
