Is gay marriage legal in Singapore?

Gay marriage is not permitted in Singapore as of 2023. In 2019, a court in Singapore upheld Section 377A, ruling that the Parliament, not the courts, should decide whether to repeal it. Those who identify as LGBTQ+ and their allies were disappointed by this decision.

In addition, there have been some public activities and initiatives to support inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community in Singapore. Singapore has not yet taken any steps toward legalizing same-sex unions, but this is expected to change in the future.
