Grant played college football at Houston and was taken with the final choice in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, crowning him Mr. Irrelevant that year.

Stuard spent four years as a student at the University of Houston, where he predominantly played linebacker but sometimes occasionally ran back.

Grant played in seven games during his rookie season of 2017 before missing four games and the 2017 Hawaii Bowl due to a damaged meniscus. In both of his tackles against Rice University, he received assistance. Stuard played 13 games and made 1 start in the 2018 campaign. With 11 special teams tackles, he topped the Houston Cougars football team in 2018. Grant later played running back as well.
