Hans Modrow was a German Politician well-known as the last communist premier of East Germany. Hans Modrow was born on January 27, 1928, in Jasienica, Poland.
Hans Modrow attended and studied at the University of Economics in Berlin- Karlshorst and obtained the degree of graduate economist. Hans Modrow joined the National Committee for a free Germany anti-fascist school run by future SED Politburo member Alfred Neumann for Wehrmacht members and received training in Marxism-Leninism, which he embraced.
In 1966, Hans Modrow also gained his doctorate at the Hamboldt University of Berlin. Hans Modrow was kept under observation from 1958 to 2013 by the Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND).
In 1978, Hans Modrow was awarded the GDR’s Patriotic Order of Merit in gold and received the award of Order of Kari Marx.
