Is it better to be at the top or bottom of a collapsing building?

The ground floor of a fallen building is the most dangerous, whereas the top story is the safest. Being at the bottom would typically be the safest choice if you could find a hiding spot that could resist the weight of the structure collapsing on top of you.

You will get crush injuries if you don’t. In most cases, the roof is your best option when in doubt. Next, wish for a gradual building collapse (i.e. does not free fall). In this manner, there is at least a good probability that nothing will fall on top of you.
