Is it permissible to attribute thought to Allah, such as saying “Be as Allah thinks you are, or as Allah thinks well of you”?

Is it permissible to attribute thought to Allah, such as saying “Be as Allah thinks you are, or as Allah thinks well of you”?

Praise be to Allah.

I put this question to our shaykh, ‘Abd ar-Rahmaan al-Barraak (may Allah preserve him), and he replied: This expression is false and reprehensible. It is not permissible to attribute thought to Allah or to say that Allah thinks such and such, or Allah thinks well of So-and-so, and the like. End quote.

And Allah knows best.
