His father worked at an insurance firm in New York and you can say he was born into a political family with parents who were firmly Conservative Republicans. He is a graduate of Albright college with a degree in Finance before moving on to acquire a Master of Business administration from the University of Connecticut in 1993. He got married in 2008 to Brazilian-Amerian activist, Gisele Barreto Fetterman and the couple have three children together, Two sons and a daughter.
