Kathleen Genevieve Ledecky, better known as Katie Ledecky, is an American competitive swimmer who was born in Washington, D.C., on March 17, 1997. At the age of 26, Katie was 183 cm (6 foot) tall and weighed 160 lb (73 kg).

Katie has won 21 gold medals at international competitions and seven gold medals at the Olympics, which is the most ever for a female swimmer. Ledecky holds the records for women’s swimming after winning 26 individual gold medals in addition to 16 gold medals overall and six gold medals at the World Aquatics Championships.

Ledecky currently holds the world records for the 400-meter freestyle (long course), 800- and 1500-meter freestyle for women (both long course and short course). She now also holds female records for the 500, 1000, and 1650-yard freestyle races. She is regarded as one of the greatest Olympians of all time and the best swimmer of all time.
