English professional footballer Lauren May Hemp, born on August 7, 2000, now plays forward for Manchester City in the Women’s Super League and for Team England, is notable.
Lauren was given the England Young Player of the Year title in September 2016 and 2017. In addition, she was recognized as the PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year in each of the years 2018 through 2022. In 2022, she contributed to the Lionesses’ Euro victory.
Lauren was born and raised in North Walsham, Norfolk, where she also attended Millfield Primary School and North Walsham High School. Young Lauren, a fan of the game, joined the North Walsham Youth FC team in her community. 2008 saw the start of Lauren’s youth career at Norwich City, where her sister Amy also played. Despite still being a part of the team for the entire 2015–16 season, she played her last game for Norwich in 2015.
