The early 2010s saw the creation of a YouTube channel by Lynnette (nicknamed “Diamond”) and Rochelle (nicknamed “Silk”) that backed Black Lives Matter and condemned police violence. But as of July 5th, 2015, they had shifted to the right and opposed unauthorized immigration.
During the 2016 presidential election, Hardaway said at a Trump rally, “We got off that Democrat plantation, and we changed our party to Republican to vote for Donald J. Trump.” Due to their YouTube videos, she and her sister instantly became famous.
Diamond and Silk received 1.8 million Facebook likes and over 267,000 YouTube subscribers, with the majority of their fans being white, middle-aged women. Fox promoted the 5G tower and coronavirus rumours before revealing them in March 2020. At the age of 51, she passed away in 2023.
