Marquis Grissom was born Marquis Deon Grissom on April 17, 1967, in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America Marion Grissom and Julia Grissom. Grissom stands at a height of about 5 feet 11 inches or 180 centimetres tall and weighs about 190 Ibs or 86 kilograms.

Marquis Grissom is a former professional baseball player in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a center fielder. Grissom made his MLB debut on August 22, 1989, for the Montreal Expos and his last appearance was on July 31, 2005, for the San Francisco Giants. Grissom also played for MLB teams like Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, and Los Angeles Dodgers with a career spanning from 1989 to 2005, that is, sixteen years.

Marquis Grissom also played baseball at Lakeshore High School, where he attended. Grissom furthered to Florida A and M University on a baseball scholarship, where h played as a pitcher and outfielder.

After he retired from active play, Grissom ventured into coaching youth baseball. Grissom was then signed to coach the Washington Nationals.
