She is the daughter of Nisar Memon, a prominent businessman, politician, and educator who is a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q). Born in 1972 was Marvi. After gaining a seat in the 2008 election on a basis reserved for women, she became well-known.
Before entering politics, Memon worked as an intern for two of Pakistan’s top print publications: Dawn and The Newsline. She also held posts in the American embassy in Islamabad, the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
She is a graduate of the London School of Economics and had worked for Citibank and Pakistan Television Corporation before assisting in the founding of Trakker, the biggest vehicle tracking company in Pakistan. Marvi gained notoriety for becoming the nation’s youngest female CEO of a global corporation. She also worked for the Inter-Services Public Relations’ media management division (ISPR).
