Michael Benjamin, popularly known as Mika Ben, was born on 27 June 198, in Port-au-Prince, Ouest, Haiti. He is a Haitian singer, songwriter, guitarist and also producer. He is also known as the son of the famous Haitian singer named Lionel Benjamin.
Mika Ben started his solo career in the late 1990s, which was after winning first place for the song “Nwel trist” (Sad Christmas), which he wrote for the “Konkou Nwel” competition, which was hosted by Telemax. He issued two albums as a solo artist, “Vwayaj” in 2000 and “Mika” in 2004. Mika Ben was appointed as the lead vocalist of Krezi Mizik, which was a brand-new Haiitan konpa combo, in 2005. “Ayiti San Manti,” Krezi’s debut album, was released in November 2006.
Mikaben began started working on music when he was just at the age of 14, he always watched his father write and perform, when he was a child. Mika Ben went into singing, and producing because his father, was his greatest sources of motivation, growing up to watch his father, sing, write and also perform inspired him, as he had to follow his fathers footsteps by becoming like him. Mika Ben is married to to Vanessa Fanfan, and the couple both has kids.

Mika Ben is dead, he died on 15 October 2022, the incident happened when he was playing with the Haitian konpa band CaRiMi on Saturday, he died after suffering a seizure on stage, however, the emergency service made efforts to revive him but couldn’t.
