John Ikechukwu Okafor, an actor and comedian better known by his stage name Mr Ibu, is a native of Nigeria. Okafor is a well-known comic actor in Nigeria who is also one of the most talented. He has appeared as an actor in over 200 Nollywood productions, such as Mr Ibu (2004), Mr Ibu and His Son (2006), Coffin Producers, Husband Suppliers, International Players, Mr Ibu in London (2004), Police Recruit (2003), 9 Wives (2005), Ibu in Prison (2006), and Keziah (2007).
Mr Ibu frequently exhibits complete stupidity, funny incompetence, and a glaring detachment from reality in his comedic acts.
Mr Ibu is from the Nkanu West L.G.A. of Enugu State. Following the passing of his father, Okafor moved to Sapele to live with his brother in 1974 after completing primary school.
Mr Ibu took up odd jobs in Sapele to support his family and pay for his studies. Mr Ibu then opened a photography business, became a hairstylist, and found work at a company that built crates.
After high school, he was accepted into the Yola College of Education, but he left early due to financial difficulties. He eventually enrolled in the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, as soon as he could afford it.
