In the United States, the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is a publicly traded utility (IOU). One of the largest combined natural gas and electric energy companies in the nation was founded in California in 1905 and is known as Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

The business is a division of PG&E Corporation with headquarters in San Francisco. In 2022, PG&E’s corporate headquarters will move to Oakland, California, which is on the other side of San Francisco Bay.

About 23,000 people work for Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s energy transmission and delivery division, which is its main business. The company provides natural gas and electricity to roughly 16 million customers in a 70,000-square-mile service area in northern and central California.

Is PG&E Still In Business?

Even though Pacific Gas & Electric, the biggest utility in California, emerged from bankruptcy and donated $5.4 billion in cash and 22.19 percent of its stock to a trust for people affected by wildfires started by the utility’s equipment, PG&E is still in operation.
