Richard Williams is a former tennis coach and also the father of tennis players Serena and Venus Williams. He was an animated figure whenever his daughters played.
Born Richard Dove Williams, Jr at Shreveport, Louisiana to Julie Mae and Richard Dove Williams. He was the eldest of five children. Williams took tennis lessons and really wanted his children to be tennis players.
He wrote out a plan and started coaching Serena and Venus at the age of four. He withdrew his daughters from the tennis academy and coached both of them himself.
Richard Williams was married three times. He married Serena’s mother Oracene “Brandy” Price in 1980 and had Serena and Venus with her. However, they divorced in 2002.
He later married Lakeisha Juanita Graham in 2010 and had a son with her but they got divorced in 2017.

Richard Williams had a stroke in 2016 which caused him to slow things down. In 2022, he suffered two strokes but he is still alive. His health has been on a decline since 2016 but Williams is still living at the age of 80.
