Rod Stewart was born and raised in London and is of Scotch and English ancestry. With his distinctive raspy singing voice, Stewart has sold more than 250 million records worldwide, making him one of the most popular performers of all time.

Rod Stewart has ten number-one albums and 31 top-ten singles in the UK, including six that peaked at number one.

Stewart has 16 top ten successes in the US, with four of those songs reaching the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. At the 2016 Birthday Honours, he got a knighthood for his charitable and musical endeavors.

The beginning of Stewart’s musical career came in 1962 when he began busking with a harmonica. He joined The Dimensions in 1963 and started singing and playing the harmonica. Stewart debuted in 1964 with Long John Baldry and the All-Stars before joining the Jeff Beck Group in 1967.
