Shemar Franklin Moore, an actor from the United States, was born on April 20th, 1970. Some of his most famous performances from CBS include Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless (1994–2005), Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds (2005–2016), and Sergeant II Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson in the lead role on S.W.A.T. (2017–present). Moore was Soul Train’s third regular host from 1999 to 2003. His tenure spanned those years.

Moore won eight NAACP Image Awards and the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2000 for his work on The Young and the Restless. Both awards were presented to him in recognition of his performance in those shows.

In 2016, he was nominated for a People’s Choice Award due to his performance in the television show Criminal Minds. Moore was born in Oakland, California. His parents, the business strategist Marilyn Wilson and the politician Sherrod Moore, are his parents.
