Sofia speaks English, Spanish, and French with ease. She grew up making frequent trips to see her family in Colombia because her mother is Colombian. As a guest star on the Disney Channel comedy Austin & Ally, Sofia made her acting debut on television.

She made her Disney Channel debut as Evie, the Evil Queen’s daughter, in the 2015 film Descendants. She later returned to the role in Descendants 2 and Descendants 3.

 

She appeared in Adventures in Babysitting as Lola Perez, Tini: The Movie as Melanie Sanchez, and A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits as Tessa in 2016.

 

In 2016, she signed with Hollywood Records and released her first single, “Love Is the Name.”

She is a Global Ambassador for the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation in addition to acting and singing. One of her responsibilities is to advocate for, promote, and raise awareness of the foundation’s mission and educational activities.

 

The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation has given more than $5 million in scholarships, fellowships, musical instrument grants, and educational activities in the United States and Ibero-America since its inception five years ago.
