Joe Exotic is popularly called “The Tiger King,” he is a convicted felon, former police chief, and media personality from the United States. He ran the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park, which is commonly known as the G.W. Zoo, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, from 1998 until 2018.
Exotic moved to Texas with his family and enrolled at Iowa Wesleyan University. He briefly held the position of Eastvale’s police chief after graduation. Exotic and his brother later opened a pet shop, but after his brother died in 1997, Exotic sold the business and started the G.W. Zoo. He also hosted an online talk show, and he held magic shows and cub-petting events at venues across the United States while serving as the organization’s director, he also collaborated with producer Rick Kirkham to develop a reality television series about himself. However, the project was abandoned later on, after the majority of the footage was lost in a fire in 2015.
