Ty Gibbs is an American professional stock car racing driver who was born on October 4, 2002, in America. Gibbs, then 13, began racing Shifter Karts at GoPro Motorplex in the summer of 2015. Gibbs won the IceBreaker 125 Late Model Stock race for Nelson Motorsports at Myrtle Beach Speedway in 2019. Gibbs has won 18 ARCA Menards Series races and finished in the top five 38 times in 47 starts.
Gibbs competed in 11 of 20 ARCA Menards Series races in 2019, finishing 13th overall after victories at Gateway and Salem. The following year, Gibbs raced in 16 of 20 races and finished fifth in the points, winning at Gateway, Pocono, Kentucky, Iowa, Winchester, and Memphis. Gibbs turned 18 on October 4, 2020, making him eligible to race on all ARCA tracks (including Daytona and Talladega). Gibbs ran full-time in the JGR No. 18 in 2021. Gibbs started the season fourth at Daytona, then won at Phoenix, and finished 27th at Talladega after colliding with Greg Van Alst. His victory at Kansas in May marked the first time since Kevin Swindell at Chicagoland Speedway in 2012 that a driver in the series had led every lap of a race. At Charlotte two races later and at the Milwaukee Mile in August, Gibbs would repeat this accomplishment.
