Joseph van Vicker, better known by his stage name Van Vicker, was born in Ghana on August 1, 1977. He is also an actor, director, and humanitarian. He runs the movie production company Sky + Orange production as its CEO. At the 2008 Africa Movie Academy Awards, Van Vicker was nominated twice: once for “Best Actor in a Leading Role” and once for “Best Upcoming Actor.”
As a radio host at Groove 106.3 fm (1999–2000) and Vibe 91.9 fm (2001–2004) and as a television personality for TV3 Ghana (1997–1999) and Metro TV (2000–2004), Vicker made his debut in the entertainment industry in radio. He also made an appearance in the Ghanaian television series Sun City, which portrayed university life. He took on the role of LeRoy King Jr., a Fine Arts student from the United States who moved to Sun City to finish his studies. Ten episodes made up the whole run of the show.
