Venus Ebony Starr Williams (born June 17, 1980) is a professional tennis player from the United States. Williams, a former world number one in both singles and doubles, has seven Grand Slam singles victories, five at Wimbledon and two at the US Open.

She is largely considered one of the sport’s all-time greats.

Williams holds four Olympic gold medals, one in singles, three in women’s doubles, and one in mixed doubles, tying Kathleen McKane Godfree for the most Olympic medals earned by a man or female tennis player.

Venus is the only tennis player to have won four Olympic medals. Williams became only the second player in Olympic history to win gold medals in both singles and doubles at the same Olympic Games, following Helen Wills Moody at the 1924 Summer Olympics.

Williams is the only active WTA Tour player with 49 singles titles, trailing only her sister Serena Williams. Her 35-match winning streak, which lasted from the Wimbledon Championships in 2000 to the Generali Ladies Linz tournament final in 2000, is the longest since January 1, 2000.

She is also one of just two active WTA players, along with sister Serena, to have reached the finals of all four Grand Slams.

Is Venus Williams a vegan?

Venus used to be a big meat eater (she was “massive into steaks”) before being vegan, but she’s now completely embraced the plant-based lifestyle.
