When the crew learned of Scully’s death from members of his family, they announced that he had died away at his Los Angeles home. The cause of death has not been determined.
Scully’s personal things were auctioned off in 2020 and sold for about $2 million. UCLA’s ALS research benefited from a part of this gift.
