Dorsey had the idea for Twitter in the early 2000s, but it was scrapped due to his friend’s disdain. She did, however, start using Twitter in 2006. Dorsey spent the majority of his time researching IBM computer models. Jack attended the University of Missouri-Rolla for two years before transferring to New York University, but he dropped out after the first semester in 1999.
Dorsey met privately with US President Donald Trump at the White House, where they discussed Trump’s concerns that Twitter had limited or removed some of his and conservatives’ Twitter followers. Dorsey tweeted after the meeting that they discussed making Twitter “healthier and more civil.” Dorsey had previously given a TED talk about the spread of abuse and misinformation on the social media platform, which drew criticism.
