Prior to their passing, he was Miami Dolphins’ senior vice president of communications and community relations and was married to Elizabeth Jenkins whom he had three children namely Liya, Aiden and Sloane.
He earned a BA in journalism in 1997 from Texas Tech College. In 2017, he received the Alumni Award, after which he delivered his graduating address.
During the team’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dolphins made the announcement of his passing. He worked at Texas Southern, Lehigh, and his alma mater Texas Tech before joining the team in 2009 after spending nearly seven years with the San Francisco 49ers.
Jenkins also played a key role in the organization of the Formula One race that took place at Hard Rock Stadium earlier this year.
