Rapper and musician Javorius Tykies Scott, also known as JayDaYoungan, was an American who was born on July 15, 1998 in Bogalusa, Louisiana, and died on July 27, 2022. At the age of 18, he started his rapping career and dropped out of high school to focus on it.
His three tracks, “23 Island,” “Elimination,” and “Opps,” which have amassed 49, 27, and 26 million plays on SoundCloud, respectively, as of November 2020, where his best-known works. Forever 23 (2018), Endless Pain (2019), and Scott’s first album Misunderstood (2019), which debuted at number 43 on the Billboard 200, were all mixtapes that he had previously released. According to Scott, he listened to Chief Keef, Boosie Badazz, and Kevin Gates as a child. Boosie and Youngboy Never Broke Again have been likened to him musically in terms of flow and flair. Don’t think I sound like anybody else, he stated, adding that he is not attempting to sound like anyone else. Fred Thomas, a reviewer, remarked that he had a style like Lil Wayne and Kevin Gates.
His mixtapes Ruffwayy and The Real Jumpman 23, which contained the songs “Sliding Freestyle” and “Muddy Situation,” were the ones that initially got him noticed by the public. On July 27, 2022, Scott was shot and lost his life. He was 24.
