Jean-Louis Xavier Trintignant was a french actor, filmmaker and racecar driver. He was born on December 11, 1930, Piolenc, France.

He became popular during the French New Wave period, making a critical and commercial breakthrough in “And God Created Woman”(1956).

In 1951 he moved to Paris to study drama and made his theatrical debut, being seen as one of the most gifted French actors of the post-war era. Trintignant acting was interrupted for several years by mandatory military service.

Whiles, he was in Italy, he was dubbed into Italian and he worked with Italian directors including Sergio Corbucci in “The Great Silence”, Valerio Zurlini in “Violent Summer and ‘The Desert of the Tartars”, Ettore Scola in “La Terrazza”, Bernardo Bertolucci in “The Conformist”, Dino Rissi in “The Easy Life”.

He announced his retirement from the cinema on July 20, 2018.

He suddenly passed away on June 17, 2022, as a result of old age.

Jean-Louis Trintignant ex-wife: Who is Nadine Trintignant?

Trintignant was formerly married to Nadine Marquand, a film director, screenwriter, producer, novelist and editor.

Her first experience with the film industry was as a lab assistant at age 15. In 1991, she joined 30 filmmakers to create Contre L’Oubli for Amnesty International.

Marquand has written several novels including “Ton Chapeau au Vestiaire (1997)”, “Combine d’enfants (2001)” and “Le Jeune Homme de la rue de France (2002)”.

After her daughter, Marie’s death she wrote the memoir “Marie, Ma fille”.

Marquand’s 1967 film, Mon Amour, which she wrote and directed herself was nominated for the Palm d’Or at the Cannes film festival that year.
