Jemma McGowan, a native of Omagh, lost her battle with an incredibly rare form of ovarian cancer on Thursday morning. She wasn’t much older than 29. Her loved ones were there when she passed away.
Jemma originally rose to fame in 2021 after being given a six-month cancer prognosis and raising more than £150,000 through crowdfunding to pay for treatment in Mexico. She was given a second cancer diagnosis not long after the birth of Sadie, her youngest child.
Sadie, Louis, and Betty’s loving mother, Clive’s wife, and online blogger talked about their battle with cancer. Hundreds of admirers were won over by her openness in dealing with the horrible illness. In order to help the community organization that had supported her throughout her illness as well as her personal cancer treatment, Jemma planned a fundraiser.
