Jerry Blavat played a significant role in the radio’s promotion of oldies’ music. He was a DJ and performer from the United States. Jerry Blavat was also referred to as “The Big Boss with the Hot Sauce” and “The Geator with the Heater.” Blavat began his career as a disc jockey in 1960. He hosted the nationally syndicated TV dance program “The Discophonic Scene” and the chat show “Jerry’s Place” in the 1960s.

Jerry Blavat recorded in 1969 alongside Joe Llewellyn and later worked as a producer or DJ. He won the World’s Longest Yard prize in 1969 for operating the best neighborhood radio station. Dude and I Love You, Dude was the title of a tape he released. Jerry Blavat was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 in addition to hosting programs on the Geator Gold Radio Network in Philadelphia.
