Jesse Powell was a well-recognized American R&B/soul songwriter-singer who was born on September 12, 1971. Powell was born in Gary, Indiana. He was raised with his siblings Trina, Tamara, and Jacob. Jesse’s amazing music prowess was discovered by Louil Silas Jr. Jesse Powell’s fame was loud when his song titled “You” became a hit and eventually peaked at No. 2 in R&B and No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Powell has released four different albums in his career. Jesse Powell while alive, was the older brother of fellow contemporary R&B singers Trina & Tamara. He won a number of accolades and was a Grammy nominee.

Jesse’s family was into music, and they often performed in local talent shows. In the year 1993, Jesse had the attention of producer Carl Roland in Kansas City. After an artist showcase, Jesse got a contract which he got signed by Louil Silas to Silas Records imprint.
