He is the host of the podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, where he and various guests discuss news events, humour, politics, philosophy, and interests.
Rogan began his comedy career in Newark, New Jersey, where he was reared, in August 1988.
He signed an exclusive development contract with Disney after moving to Los Angeles in 1994, and he subsequently made multiple acting appearances on programs including Hardball and NewsRadio.
Rogan began practising karate at the age of 14 and Taekwondo a year later. He won the lightweight division of the US Open Taekwondo Championship when he was 19 years old.
He became a Taekwondo instructor after winning the full-contact state championship in Massachusetts for four straight years.
At age 21, Rogan, who also competed in amateur kickboxing and had a 2-1 record, gave up the sport out of concern for potential more injuries and headaches.
He enrolled at the University of Massachusetts Boston, but he left early because he thought it was pointless.
He was 24 when he moved to the Boston area.
