Johnathan Hildred Wall Jr, is an American professional basketball player. He was born on September 6, 1990, Wall is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. He plays for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Wall played one season of collegiate basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats before he was selected by the Washington Wizards as the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. Between 2014 and 2018 he was a point guard and was selected to the All-NBA Team. He was an NBA All-Star five times, Wall missed more than two years of basketball due to severe injuries in 2019 before he was traded to the Houston Rockets in December 2020.

Wall played basketball during his first two years of high school, at Garner Magnet High School in Garner, North Carolina. After his second season, his family relocated to Raleigh, where he went back to Needham B. Broughton High School for his sophomore year. Wall was dismissed from the school’s varsity team for attitude-related issues, despite having a very strong tryout. He changed schools and began working on changing his attitude and other relevant concerns there, and he underwent coaching from coach Levi Beckwith, who first got him to quit making fun of his teammates when they missed layups and later helped him work on his facial expressions and also his manners.
