Peterson made friends with Rachel Notley and her family in junior high school. Notley was elected as the 17th premier of Alberta and became the leader of the Alberta New Democratic Party. From the age of 13 to 18, Peterson enrolled in the New Democratic Party (NDP). Before Jordan Peterson met left-wing activists in college, Peterson’s teenage conviction that “religion was for the ignorant, weak, and superstitious” persisted.
