Joško Gvardiol is a Croatian professional footballer, who currently plays as a defender for Manchester City in the Premier League and represents the Croatia national team. Although his primary position is centre-back, he has also showcased his skills as a left-back. Additionally, Gvardiol received his first call-up to the Croatia national under-21 team in October 2019, when he was just 17 years old. Unfortunately, Gvardiol’s journey faced a setback when he suffered an abdominal wall injury. Despite being initially named in Dalić’s 23-man squad for the 2023 UEFA Nations League Finals on 5 June 2023, he was forced to withdraw on 10 June due to this injury.
