Kay Mellor co-created the long-running children’s drama Children’s Ward with her Coronation Street colleague Paul Abbott in 1988, after writing the anthology drama series Dramarama. In 1997, the series won the BAFTA Award for Best Children’s Drama.
Kay Mellor also wrote and starred in three seasons of the family sitcom Just Us, which aired from 1990 to 1993. (1990-1994).
