Former Finance minister and yet again finance minister nominee Mr Kenneth Ofori Atta has served notice to parliament and Ghanaians that he won’t be appearing before the vetting committee as scheduled on Tuesday, 16th February 2021 because he will be traveling to United States of America to seek for medical attention over what he described as Complications after recovering from Coronavirus last year.
The said treatment captured by the letter have no specialist in Ghana hence the need for the Finance Minister Nominee to travel to America to seek for medical care.
Mr Ofori-Atta was scheduled to appear before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Tuesday, 16 February 2021 but due to his condition, he has written to inform Parliament vis-a-vis Ghanaians over his inability to honour his appointment with the vetting committee.
The leadership of Parliament has been duly notified for a new date to be fixed upon his return,” the statement noted.
