Kenneth Welsh, a well-known Canadian character actor who appeared in over 200 films, died on Thursday evening. He was in his eighties.
On Friday, ACTRA, the Canadian Film and Television Union verified the news.
“Ken was one of Canada’s all-time great performers, with hundreds of memorable roles spanning decades,” ACTRA stated in a statement.
“He’ll be missed tremendously.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
Welsh is most known in the United States for playing Windom Earle, a psychotic FBI agent in Season 2 of the landmark television series “Twin Peaks.
He was a fixture on Canadian television, starring in a number of TV movies and portraying a number of historical characters.
Welsh studied at the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal after being born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1942.
