Nathaniel Glover born February 19, 1960, also known as Nate or Danny Glover, and better known by his stage name The Kidd Creole, is a former American rapper who was a member of the group Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five with his brother Melle Mel and is considered one of the pioneers of old school hip hop.
He was sentenced to 16 years in prison in May 2022 for manslaughter charges in the August 2017 stabbing of a homeless man in Manhattan.
Born in The Bronx, New York, Glover and his brother Melvin (aka Melle Mel) joined up with Keef Cowboy (Keith Wiggins) in 1978 to form the Three MC’s, with production handled by Grandmaster Flash (Joseph Saddler).
Between 1980 and 1987, Kidd Creole collaborated on several albums with Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five.
After leaving The Furious Five in 1983, Flash, Rahiem, and Creole continued to record together for Elektra Records, subsequently reuniting with Melle Mel and the others for a reunion in 1987.
