Kim Jung Gi is a South Korean artist who was born in Goyang-Si, in the province of Kyongki-Do, in 1975. Kim enrolled in the Fine Arts School at the age of 19, focusing in “Art & Design.”
On Korea’s southeast coast, in the city of Busan, Kim spent three years attending Dong-Eui University. The 23 000 other students who were enrolled there at the same time as him may have inspired him, despite the fact that this university is highly recognized for its technical degrees. Kim served in the military for a period of time that was longer than the average for men in Korea. Kim had to become proficient with a dizzying array of vehicles and weapons because he was a Special Forces soldier.
There are presently six published sketchbooks by Kim Jung. In 2007, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2018 they were released. Together, this amount to over 4,000 pages of illustrations. In 2017, Kim collaborated with the well-known Japanese artist KATSUYA Terada to create a magnificent sketchbook that displayed their combined talents.
