He has his sister Asia and his sister London. His father, Drederick, played college basketball at Boston University with Sean Teague (father of Jeff and Marquis Teague) and under Rick Pitino.
After finishing his college career, Irving’s father moved to Australia to play professionally at SEABL’s Breen Boomers. Irvings lived in Kew, a suburb of Melbourne before he moved to the United States when Killy was two years old.
An African-American and Lakota mother died of illness at the age of four, and Drederick raised him with the help of Irving’s aunt. In 2004, Irving’s father remarried Sheteria Riley, who has been Kyrie Irving’s agent since March 2022.
Irving grew up in West Orange, NJ, and often participated in his father’s adult league games.
