Lawrence Michael Sawle professional known as Laurie Sawle was born on August 19, 1925, in Australia. He was a professional cricketer who after retirement became an administrator for the Australia cricket national team.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he also had a significant impact on the establishment of the Australian Cricket Academy, where many renowned players were trained. During World War II, he was a member of the 7th Australian Infantry Battalion, earning him the moniker “colonel.”

He passed away surviving his wife and three children.

Laurie Sawle, a former head of the Australian selectors and the first batter for Western Australia, died at the age of 96. The sources claim that Laurie passed away unexpectedly the previous night on July 26, 2022.

The Western Australia Cricket Association issued a statement to announce his sad demise whereas other clubs pay tributes to him.

According to several reports, he was never diagnosed with a particular disease or illness.
